Wellness Natural Pet Food intros grain-free dry dog food

3/20/2019
Clean ingredients for doggo’s is the main motive behind Wellness Natural Pet Food’s latest launch.

The Wellness Core Six collection from the Tewksbury, Mass.-based brand, is crafted with just six main ingredients — peas for protein and fiber, chickpeas to support healthy energy levels, flaxseed for a strong immune system, canola oil to support healthy skin and coats, and tomato pomace for antioxidants and fiber — and looks to provide the balance dog’s need to thrive, the company said.

"At a time when perceived food intolerances in pets are rising, Wellness Core Six meets the needs of pet parents who are looking for balanced nutrition for their dog without extra ingredients," Kathleen Murray, the brand Manager for Wellness Dog Food at WellPet, said. "All of our Wellness Core recipes are crafted to ensure mealtime is something dogs are excited about — even for those with ingredient sensitivities! With these new cleanly-crafted recipes, pet parents can avoid ingredients that their pets are sensitive to while still ensuring they get the balanced nutrition and great taste they need and deserve."

All of the brand's new Core Six products are crafted without the use of grains, chicken, potatoes, tapioca, dairy or wheat, and are free of artificial flavors, colors and preservatives.

Available in four recipes — free-range lamb, cage-free duck, sustainably-sourced salmon and sustainably-sourced salmon for small breeds — the brand also announced that it would be revamping the packaging for its protein-packed Petite Treats for small breed dogs and puppies.

Wellness Natural Pet Food can be found at such retailers as PetSmart and Whole Foods Market. To find an authorized retailer, the brand encourages consumers to visit the store locator on its website.
