Donny Lau departs Dollar General

Donny Lau has departed from Dollar General as senior vice president of finance and chief strategy officer.

Donny Lau has left Dollar General, where he served as senior vice president of finance and chief strategy officer. He has joined Zaxby’s as chief financial officer of the chicken chain, according to a Zaxby’s press release.

Lau, who started at Dollar General in 2017, was named chief strategy officer last August.

He held a variety of leadership positions overseeing many of the company’s key corporate finance functions including strategy, corporate development, investor relations, financial planning & analysis and strategic planning.

Before joining Dollar General, Lau held numerous roles at Yum! Brands.

At Zaxby’s, Lau will lead the finance function, including financial strategy, planning and analytics, accounting and treasury.
