Drug Store News, Chain Drug Review and The Emerson Group collaborate to celebrate community pharmacy
In an exceptional moment of solidarity, Drug Store News, Chain Drug Review and The Emerson Group have joined forces to celebrate the contributions of community pharmacy retailers and the National Association of Chain Drug Stores, as the association celebrates its 90th anniversary.
The event to be held in New York City on Dec. 13 will celebrate industry leaders (past and present) across retail channels who have impacted community health care over the last 90 years and helped transform pharmacy into a healthcare destination.
Just a few of the retailers participating in this monumental special event include:
- Walmart
- Thrifty-White
- HEB
- Target
- Amazon
- Walgreens
- Kroger
- CVS
- Costco
"This unprecedented show of solidarity is an important milestone," said John Kenlon, vice president and publisher of the DSN brand at EnsembleIQ. "The people, events, developments and milestones over the last 90 years have transformed the industry into the force it is today and we expect even bigger things for the future as retail pharmacy continues to evolve and play a bigger role in U.S. health care."

"This is an unprecedented show of solidarity because this is an important milestone," said John Kenlon, vice president and publisher of the DSN brand at EnsembleIQ. "The people, events, developments and milestones over the last 90 years have been instrumental in turning the industry into the force that it is today. And we expect even bigger things for the future as retail continues to evolve and play a bigger role in U.S. health care."
"NACDS is a critical force supporting retail pharmacy in Washington, D.C. and state capitals, and in building the retailer-supplier connections that ultimately benefit the consumer and the patient," said Chris Stanton, publisher of Chain Drug Review. "This event confirms that ours is an industry that understands the importance of the relationships between the patient and the pharmacist, the shopper and other store personnel, and, from where I stand, the retailer and the CPG supplier. Truly an event 90 years in the making."
The December issues of both magazines will feature an in-depth report about the history and accomplishments of NACDS, and how they fit into the evolution of retailing in America.
