FDA gives tentative nod to Zydus Cadila for generic seizure medication

Brivaracetam tablets provide a treatment for partial-onset seizures (epilepsy).

Zydus Cadila has received tentative approval from the Food and Drug Administration for brivaracetam tablets in dosage strengths of 10 mg, 25 mg, 50 mg, 75 mg and 100 mg.

Brivaracetam, a generic of UCB's Briviact, is used to treat partial-onset seizures.

The drug will be manufactured at the group's formulation manufacturing facility at SEZ, Ahmedabad.
