Giant Food, Kellanova, WK Kellogg Co join forces to fight food insecurity

Kellanova, WK Kellogg Co and Giant Food are partnering to tackle the ongoing issue of hunger in the communities they serve. 

Kellanova is donating a truckload of snacks to the Maryland Food Bank in a community where Giant Food operates. WK Kellogg Co is donating $10,000 and Giant Food is matching the donation for a total of $20,000 to support these efforts.

"At Giant Food, fighting food insecurity in the communities we serve is one of our top priorities," said Dyani Hanrahan, vice president of marketing and community relations at Giant Food and Maryland Food Bank board member. "For over four decades, Giant Food has been a proud partner of the Maryland Food Bank in their work to feed our neighbors. We are honored to collaborate with generous partners like Kellanova to support the Maryland Food Bank and the fight against food insecurity."

Food insecurity exists in every county in the United States. In 2021, 53 million Americans utilized food banks, the companies noted.

"With 34 million people in America not knowing where their next meal will come from, the need to help feed and fulfill continues," said Colleen Callahan, Ahold Delhaize team lead at Kellanova. "Kellanova Better Days Promise is committed to feeding people in need, and we're proud to partner with Giant Food to support those facing hunger in our communities."

Kellanova's donation is part of its Better Days Promise strategy, which aims to create better days for 4 billion people by the end of 2030.
