Lupin launches generic Westcort cream

Lupin is introducing hydrocortisone valerate cream 0.2%, a generic of Sun Pharmaceuticals' Westcort Cream 0.2%. The Food and Drug Administration approved Lupin's generic in August.

The product is indicated for the relief of the Inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid responsive dermatoses in adult patients. 

Hydrocortisone valerate cream, 0.2% had a market value of roughly $11.5 million, according to IQVIA September 2019 data.
