Specialty pharmacy Amber Pharmacy, a subsidiary of Hy-Vee, has been selected by MaxorPlus, a division of Maxor National Pharmacy Services, as an exclusive partner to provide immunosuppressive medication to transplant patients throughout the United States.

Organ transplant patients require lifelong treatment with immunosuppressants and a wide range of other maintenance medications. Through the partnership, MaxorPlus clients will now have the option of choosing Amber Pharmacy’s service model for members with organ transplant medication needs.

“Our reputation in providing extraordinary services to thousands of transplant patients and more than 150 transplant facilities each year is something we are very proud of,” said Aaron Wiese, senior vice president of Hy-Vee, and president of Amber Pharmacy. “We are honored to be MaxorPlus’ exclusive partner to reduce costs, improve quality of care and deliver positive outcomes for transplant patients throughout the United States.”

"We feel organ transplant patients deserve to have access to dedicated clinical professionals who understand the needs of transplant recipients. Amber Pharmacy proved to be a natural fit for us based on their patient care model and dedication to service," said Mike Einodshofer, Maxor chief pharmacy officer. “MaxorPlus and Amber Pharmacy are both committed to delivering high-quality patient care. Importantly, our collaboration demonstrates how PBMs and independent specialty pharmacies can partner together.”
