After previously announcing that it would be offering teachers buying school supplies for their classrooms a discount for a limited time, Meijer is now extending that deadline.
The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based retailer announced that the 15% discount would now be extended and available to educators throughout the entire 2020 to 2021 school year.
“There are so many uncertainties as teachers head back to classes and we’ve heard the plans may change throughout the year, so our goal is to help them shop with confidence whenever they need to refill supplies,” Brandon Pasch, director of back-to-school merchandising for Meijer said. “We hope that extending the 15% discount for the entire school year helps reduce the stress to their pocketbooks as they continue gathering supplies for their classrooms and home offices.”
In addition, items that qualify for the discount have been expanded to include face masks, hand sanitizers, spiral notebooks, Crayola, Elmer’s Glue, Sharpies, Post-It Notes, planners, journals and memo boards, the company said.
To get their discount, teachers can present a current school ID at their local Meijer customer service desk, where they will be presented with a paper coupon that can only be used on in-store purchases.
Teachers can take advantage of the coupon by obtaining a new one any time they return to Meijer during the back-to-school shopping season.
