Meijer offering free pickup service in wake of holiday shopping spree

The holiday shopping season is fast approaching, and Meijer is looking to ease some of that stress for its shoppers.

“This is the latest of our efforts to adapt our digital services to help customers manage their lives during the pandemic and further enhance the experience of shopping at Meijer,” Derek Steele, vice president of customer strateg,y said. “We believe the personalized service, coupled with the freshness and wide selection our stores offer, provides the digital solution so many of our customers are looking for during these challenging times.”

Currently, the retailer is in the process of enhancing its capacity for the expected holiday demand and is hiring 10-to-15 members at each of its stores.

Due to reduced hours during the pandemic, the Meijer Pickup service is available seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
