NACDS announces 2024 Annual Meeting Business Program speakers

Walter Isaacson is set to speak during the Sunday Business Program; and Arthur C. Brooks will deliver a speech during the Tuesday Business Program.

The National Association of Chain Drug Stores announced the Business Program speakers for its 2024 Annual Meeting, taking place from April 27 to 30 in Palm Beach, Fla. 

Author, journalist and professor Walter Isaacson will speak during the Sunday Business Program on April 28, while author and social scientist Arthur C. Brooks is set to speak at the Tuesday Business Program on April 30.

Isaacson, a professor of history at Tulane University, is also an advisory partner at Perella Weinberg and has been the CEO of the Aspen Institute, CEO of CNN and editor of Time Magazine.

His most recent works include the biography Elon Musk; The Code Breaker: Jennifer Doudna, Gene Editing, and the Future of the Human Race; Leonardo da Vinci; The Innovators: How a Group of Hackers, Geniuses, and Geeks Created the Digital Revolution; Steve Jobs; Einstein: His Life and Universe; Benjamin Franklin: An American Life; and Kissinger: A Biography. In addition, he coauthored The Wise Men: Six Friends and the World They Made.

Currently, Isaacson is a host of the show “Amanpour and Company” on PBS and CNN, a contributor to CNBC and a host of the podcast “Trailblazers, from Dell Technologies.”

Arthur C. Brooks is the Parker Gilbert Montgomery Professor of the Practice of Public and Nonprofit Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School, Professor of Management Practice at the Harvard Business School, and the author of the “How to Build a Life” column at The Atlantic

Brooks is the author of 13 books, including the 2022 No. 1 New York Times bestseller From Strength to Strength: Finding Success, Happiness, and Deep Purpose in the Second Half of Life; and recently released Build the Life You Want: The Art and Science of Getting Happier with co-author Oprah Winfrey. 

In 2009, Brooks became the president of the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, DC. Over the following decade, he was selected as one of Fortune Magazine’s “50 World’s Greatest Leaders” and was awarded seven honorary doctorates.
