CARLISLE, Pa. — An Ahold USA executive has received honors from a New England business publication.
Ahold USA announced Tuesday that EVP and CFO Paula Price was named 2012 CFO of the Year in the public company category by the Boston Business Journal and was honored at the newspaper's annual luncheon last Wednesday. Ahold USA, a subsidiary of Netherlands-based Royal Ahold, operates the Stop & Shop, Giant-Landover and Giant-Carlisle supermarket chains and the Peapod online grocery service.
"Paula is a pioneer of the grocery retail industry, using her extensive experience and knowledge of finance to assist our company in continuing to streamline operations and process," Ahold USA COO Carl Schlicker said. "Her broad skill set and professionalism have inspired confidence and earned her great respect here within Ahold USA. I can't think of a CFO more deserving of this honor."
Price began working for Ahold in 2009 as CFO of the Stop & Shop and Giant-Landover divisions. Following the company's reorganization that year, she was promoted to EVP and CFO. Price also is on the board of trustees of the Newton-Wellesley Hospital and the board of overseers of Boston's Museum of Fine Arts. She also was on the board of directors for Charming Shoppes until it was sold in June 2012.
