AIDS Healthcare Foundation acquires MOMS Pharmacy

LOS ANGELES — The largest nonprofit organization focused on HIV and AIDS has acquired a group of specialty pharmacies.



The AIDS Healthcare Foundation announced the acquisition of MOMS Pharmacy. Founded in 1983 and a division of Allion Healthcare, MOMS operates 12 pharmacies and MOMS Pharmacy Access Centers in California, Washington, Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York, providing a wide range of medications and services. AHF also operates 19 AHF Pharmacy centers in California, Florida and the District of Columbia. Financial terms of the deal, which was closed on Monday, were not disclosed.



"This agreement establishes AHF as a true leader in specialized pharmacy services tailored to serving HIV/AIDS clients with an even greater presence throughout the United States," AHF president Michael Weinstein said. "MOMS Pharmacy's strong national footprint, coupled with AHF's existing comprehensive offerings, will bolster our ability to serve the communities in our core markets as well as increase our impact through new operations in key markets on the East and West Coast."
