Almay's new Smart Shade CC Cream hits retail shelves

6/20/2013

NEW YORK — Looking to tap into the CC cream craze, Revlon’s Almay brand has created the new Almay Smart Shade CC Cream Complexion Corrector, a multi-benefit formula designed to instantly diminish the appearance of imperfections, pores, dull skin tone, fine lines, wrinkles and discoloration.

Promoting the launch is actress Kate Hudson, global brand ambassador for the Almay brand. Hudson is appearing in a new commercial for the CC Cream, which was shot by filmmaker Lisa Cholodenko (“The Kids Are All Right” and “Six Feet Under”).

Like a BB cream, Almay Smart Shade CC Cream combines the benefits of skin care and makeup, but works even harder to color correct for even skin now and over time, the company stated. In about two weeks, users reported improvements in the clarity, texture and brightness of their bare skin. After eight weeks, 83% of users reported their bare skin tone looked more even, and 85% reported their dark spots were visibly reduced.

The new Almay Smart Shade CC Cream is the latest technological advancement in the emerging skin-perfecting segment. Almay’s CC Cream also helps prevent future damage with broad-spectrum SPF 35 protection. Wear it alone for light to medium coverage, or as a moisturizing primer under foundation, the company stated.

The new Almay Smart Shade CC Cream is available in three shades: light, light/medium and medium. It has a suggested retail price of $9.99 and became available in stores in June.
