American Greetings launches recordable photo frame cards

9/8/2009

CLEVELAND As the celebration of Grandparent's Day marks its 30th anniversary, American Greetings has introduced a fun, memorable and innovative way to say thanks with the new recordable photo frame card.

These displayable cards allow the sender to not only add a photo of the recipient's adorable grandchildren, but also add their voices, which can be played back with the push of a button. The new offering is particularly appropriate for the holiday, because it focuses on what is most important for any grandparent, their grandchildren.

With the changing responsibilities and personalities of grandparents today, there is also a need to enhance how we celebrate them.  This evolution of how we show our appreciation and celebrate our grandparents is clearly reflected in the newest offering from American Greetings.

"Grandparent's Day is the perfect occasion for the recordable photo frame card because it reflects the worst kept secret of any family. . .that Grandma and Grandpa will do anything for their grandchildren," said Carol Miller, executive director of new product concepts at American Greetings. "The pairing of an adorable photo and sure-to-be-cute vocal message from their grandkids will definitely make the card a keepsake that will definitely be appreciated."

Nearly three million cards are sent annually in recognition of Grandparent's Day, which will be celebrated this year on Sunday, Sept. 13. Shoppers can find the recordable photo frame cards and other greetings for grandparents at many leading specialty, mass, grocery and drug store channels nationwide.
