American Greetings rolls out presidential holiday cards

CLEVELAND American Greetings was selected to produce the official 2009 presidential and vice presidential holiday cards for the Obama administration.

The presidential greeting card artwork is the presidential seal surrounded by a wreath. It is embossed in gold foil on the cover of the card, which has a thin burgundy border. The inside message offers a simple yet meaningful wish, as it reads, "May your family have a joyous holiday season and a new year blessed with hope and happiness."

The vice presidential greeting card features a photo of the Biden family on the front and includes the vice presidential seal on the inside along with a warm message that reads, "Wishing you and your family joy and peace this holiday season."

"We are honored to have been chosen to produce this year's presidential and vice presidential holiday cards," said Zev Weiss, American Greetings CEO. "Card sending reflects the important values of peace, hope, and appreciation, and we are very pleased to see our first family celebrating these ideals this holiday season."

The greeting cards were paid for by the Democratic National Committee, and will be mailed to foreign dignitaries, friends and family.
