AmeriHealth New Jersey MDLive to provide members telemedicine services

1/15/2016

CRANBURY, N.J. - AmeriHealth New Jersey today announced that the company is offering telemedicine to all of its fully-insured members and their dependents at no additional cost. The service is available through MDLive, an on-demand telehealth company, which enables members to gain access to board-certified doctors by HIPAA secure video, phone or via the MDLive mobile app.

“Not every medical concern warrants a trip to the doctor — some issues can be resolved with a conversation over the phone or through video chat,” stated Frank Urbano, senior medical director at AmeriHealth New Jersey. “Access to telemedicine provides health care right at our fingertips, using the devices we rely on every day for so many other things.”

MDLive phone consultations are available around the clock, while video consultations are available between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. every day.
