LYNDONVILLE, Vt. -- One of the most legendary brands in skin care has launched two new products to meet customer demand for smaller and more portable sizes.
Bag Balm has rolled out new quarter-ounce On-the-Go Tubes and a new four-ounce tin. While Bag Balm’s heritage is in the farming community as the original udder balm for cows, over the decades it has been adopted by humans for a wide variety of problematic skin conditions. And, because of its efficacy and versatility, Bag Balm has become known as the “rescue balm.”
The new products are part of a concerted effort to attract a wider customer base, including those who’ve never been near a farm.
CEO Jim Kelly talked directly to dozens of consumers over a period of six months to understand how Bag Balm could tailor its offerings to their needs.
"The green tins are always going to be part of what we do,” Kelly said, but “we kept hearing over and over, ‘Make it in a tube,’ so we made it in a tube.” Kelly also brought a retailer-friendly innovation to all Bag Balm tins: stackable lids, for more versatile in-store merchandising.
Bag Balm products are sold at CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, and other retailers nationwide.
