Barney and classic Western coming to DVD

LOS ANGELES Two DVDs that are tailor-made for pharmacies and appeal to vastly different audiences are due to arrive in stores Sept. 9.

Lion’s Gate Entertainment will roll out The Best of Barney to celebrate the purple dinosaur’s 20th anniversary. The release features the best Barney moments of all-time culled from thousands of TV episodes along with favorite songs.

On the other end of the spectrum, Warner Home Video will release the sprawling Western saga How the West was Won on a special two-disc set. The epic film stars several classic Western heroes including John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Henry Fonda and Gregory Peck.
