BIC debuts line of Americana-inspired lighters

SHELTON, Conn. — BIC Consumer Products USA, a manufacturer of such items as stationery, lighters and shavers, on Thursday announced that it is launching a series of lighters that take inspiration from Americana. The multi-purpose lighters will feature limited-edition handles in stars and stripes as well as plaid patterns, the company said.

 

“BIC Multi-purpose Lighters are safe, reliable and long lasting, combine quality and style and add a personal touch to any lighting occasion,” said Sandra Levine, associate brand manager—lighter marketing, BIC Consumer Products USA. “With our Americana line, consumers will have the opportunity to show off their patriotism as they light up their outdoor grills this summer!”

 

In addition to the colorful handles, the BIC Americana Multi-purpose Lighter features a child-resistant mechanism, a long wand that keeps hands safe and away from flames and a retractable hook that allows for easy storage. The lighters are made with USA Fuel Cartridges.

 

Consumers can find the lighters in packages of two at Target for a suggested retail price of $6.99, and a one-pack at select Walmart locations for a SRP of $3.97.
