Cabell Huntington Hospital opens Digestive Diseases Center

HUNTINGTON, W.V. Cabell Huntington Hospital recently opened its Digestive Diseases Center here, according to published reports, expanding services to treat a wide range of gastrointestinal illnesses using procedures including endoscopic ultrasound, motility studies, capsule enteroscopy and colonoscopy.

Nearby family physicians are encouraging more people to have regular screenings in an effort to identify digestive illnesses earlier. Screening colonoscopies are recommended at age 50, for example, or earlier if there is a family history of diseases such as colon cancer.
