Cancer Treatment Centers of America opens first all-digital cancer hospital
GOODYEAR, Ariz. The first all-digital cancer hospital in the country has opened, the company operating it announced Wednesday.
Cancer Treatment Centers of America opened the 213,000-sq.-ft. hospital in Goodyear, Ariz., the fourth in its network.
CTCA at Western Regional Medical Center employs a completely wired, comprehensive electronic health record system, which the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society Analytics EMR Adoption Model would consider a 'Stage 7,' or all-digital system.
"Western is the first cancer hospital in the nation to offer a fully digital environment," CTCA SVP clinical affairs and chief medical officer Edgar Staren said in a statement. "We view healthcare IT as a key enabler in our ongoing pursuit to improve the lives of the patients we serve."
