Cardinal Health taps Kellogg exec as EVP, CIO

Cardinal Health has named Brian Rice as executive vice president and chief information officer and customer support services. Rice's most recent role was senior vice president, chief information officer and global business services at Kellogg.

In his role at Cardinal Health, effective Feb. 4, he will report to Mike Kaufmann, CEO of Cardinal Health.

"Brian's expertise and achievements in identifying, implementing and running extremely complex, global information technology strategies and processes make him a perfect fit to lead Cardinal Health's experienced and committed technology and customer services teams."

While at Kellogg, Rice's role as CIO was expanded to include global business services, and he managed more than 2,000 professionals across six global and regional service centers. During a previous engagement with Kellogg in the 1990s, Rice led an information technology team in Sydney, Australia as the regional CIO.

Rice worked at General Motors in Detroit, where he was global process information officer and global services information officer. Previously, he led Mars' Asia Pacific Information Services from Singapore.
