Colleagues weigh in on Peterson’s impact

4/13/2016

After 13 years with the Consumer Healthcare Products Association, Ted Peterson recently retired as VP of CHPA to start a new company. Peterson is credited for having helped evolve the organization into a leading industry advocate for helping grow members’ businesses.

DSN asked some of his colleagues and counterparts about the impact Peterson — whose 40-year career in the industry included stops at National Association of Chain Drug Stores, Whitehall Laboratories (now Pfizer) and Exel Logistics prior to CHPA — has had on the business. Here is what they said:

“Ted has been a modest and very likable leader, with a strong belief in the value of CHPA. His passion for his work and relentlessness in pursuing objectives were key to recruiting new members, securing great events with retailers and making everyone feel their ideas could contribute to the thinking of CHPA." — Mike Donnantuono, president and COO Blistex

“Ted has been a great advocate for the consumer health industry and a bridge-builder between CPG and retailers. He has been a champion of collaboration, helping foster meaningful company and individual relationships that help drive the industry forward." — George Coleman, VP merchandising – consumer healthcare at CVS Health

“Ted’s dedication and support of the consumer health industry during his many years with CHPA is commendable." — Natalie Bartner, president of Bayer’s Consumer Health Division in North America

“Ted Peterson has had [a vast] influence and impact on our industry. His industry commitment to retailers and manufacturers has truly been selfless and a win-win for all." — Scott Emerson, corporate president, chairman and CEO of The Emerson Group
