Corner Care Clinic signs agreement with Aetna

INDIANAPOLIS Corner Care Clinic has signed an agreement with Aetna to become a national provider.

"We are proud to be a part of the extensive Aetna health provider network, which provides benefits through employers in all 50 states, and look forward to growing our clinics across the country," stated Julie Beckner, president and chief executive officer of Corner Care Clinic.

Added Allen Karp, Aetna’s vice president for Health Care Delivery, "Corner Care Clinic, and its growing number of locations, offers another option for our members and adds to our network of physicians, hospitals and providers."

Karp stated that Aetna continues to encourage its patients to see their primary care physician, but recognizes the role that such retail-based clinics play in providing patients with convenient care for acute ailments.

Corner Care Clinic has opened 22 locations in Indiana, Ohio, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, Illinois and New York, with plans to open several more clinics by the end of 2007.
