WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS/pharmacy announced its plan for Black Friday this week, touting its three-day Black Friday sales event that starts Thanksgiving Day and goes through Nov. 28. The company’s Thanksgiving circular will have a 25% off Shopping Pass that customers can redeem during the sale. With its holiday offerings, CVS/pharmacy is hoping to make it easy for shoppers to make it their one-stop shopping destination for healthier food options, entertaining and winter essentials to fight cough, cold and flu.
“CVS/pharmacy is dedicated to helping customers spend more time with friends and family, and less time stressing, by offering a wide variety of gift items,” CVS Health chief merchant and CVS/pharmacy’s VP front store business Judy Sansone said. “Instead of shopping at multiple stores to pick up gifts, decor, party snacks, and health and beauty items, CVS/pharmacy provides a convenient way for customers to purchase all these items in one location.”
CVS/pharmacy’s beauty deals include a buy two, get the third free special when mixing and matching popular beauty and cosmetics brands, such as L'Oréal, CoverGirl, NYX, Neutrogena, Wet n Wild, Sally Hansen and Physician's Formula, as well as CVS/pharmacy-exclusive line MUA. Additionally, shoppers will receive 40% off select personal grooming electronics.
The company’s “Give Comfort & Joy” deals include buy one, get one free sales on memory foam slippers or pillows and select Hallmark Ornaments. And shoppers who buy an Amope Pedi Perfect Electronic Foot or Nail Care File will get a free 8.45-oz. bottle of Amope’s Pedi Perfect Daily Moisturizer.
CVS/pharmacy also is offering deals on toys — including many for less than $10 — as well as novelty gifts. Customers purchasing gift cards will be able to give back, with $1 from each gift card purchase going to support Stand Up To Cancer research, up to 525,000 through December 2016. Customers also can order photo prints and custom greeting cards for same-day pickup through the CVS mobile app’s Photo Center feature or in-store at the Kodak Picture Kiosk.
When it comes to entertaining, the company is highlighting the new food and snack brands available in more than 500 stores — among the healthy brands are Kind, Kashi, Chobani, Vita Coco, Annie’s and Sabra. Additionally, through CVS/pharmacy's "Fit Choices" shelf-tagging system, shoppers can quickly identify and purchase healthier food and snack options that are clearly labeled as "Heart Healthy," "Gluten Free," "Sugar Free," "Organic," "Good Source of Protein" and "Non-GMO Verified."
Finally, store pharmacies will be offering flu shots and the typical OTC offerings to combat cough, cold and flu symptoms.
