Drug-free wristbands relieve nausea

PACIFIC GROVE, Calif. Moms-to-be and chemotherapy patients can “psi” with relief with the launch of a new product that uses wrist acupressure to relieve nausea.

California-based company Psi Health Solutions recently launched its premiere product, Psi Bands, drug-free wristbands that are designed to relieve nausea often caused by anesthesia or chemotherapy. Psi Bands (pronounced "sigh bands") are adjustable at two areas, and are worn around the wrist and at the acupressure point in order to work effectively.

Two mothers-to-be, Carla Falcone and Romy Taormina, had been searching for an alternative way to alleviate their morning sickness. As believers in alternative medicine, the two decided to develop a product that uses acupressure, an ancient healing art that uses pressure to stimulate the body's natural self-healing abilities.

"In addition to our personal positive results with wrist acupressure, our research found that numerous scientific studies support the use of wrist acupressure for the relief of nausea," Falcone said. "Once we considered how many people suffer from nausea, we wanted to create a product that could help."

Psi Bands are also unique in design. They are waterproof, comfortable and available in different colors and patterns.

Psi Bands are worn on both wrists and come two to a set, ranging from $14.99 to $19.99 in price. The bands are sold online and at retailers nationwide.
