DSN adds Quick Credit CPE for busy community pharmacy teams
Drug Store News, an ACPE accredited provider of continuing pharmacy education for more than the 30 years, is dedicated to fulfilling the CPE program’s mission that includes providing engaging CPE activities, designed specifically for the community pharmacist and technician. Because the demands placed on the community pharmacy team continue to grow, Drug Store News has responded with a new option to assist busy professionals in meeting their development needs.
Released monthly, DSN Quick Credit lessons were added to the traditional CPE library as an alternative to the existing live and home-study programs that range from 1 contact hour to 15 contact hours or more. DSN Quick Credit lessons are intended to be completed in 15 minutes and provide 0.25 contact hours or 0.025 CEUs of knowledge-based CPE. DSN Publisher, Eric Savitch, was excited to see the release of the new format. “These new lessons leverage the responsive design features of the new DSN education platform and allow subscribers to quickly earn CPE credits wherever they are, using a smartphone, tablet or PC. Our initial release targets law credits and will allow users to accumulate up to 3 contact hours each year,” Savitch offered.
Nancy Lyons, DSN’s Director of CE and Clinical Content offered an additional perspective. “As community pharmacists and technicians work to complete the continuing education credits needed to maintain professional licenses and certifications, DSN is focused on offering programs that also support learning, retention and overall professional development. The DSN Quick Credit programs present timely topics that allow learners to experience multiple small doses of education each month, allowing frequent and recent opportunities,” Lyons added.
DSN Quick Credit lessons are released at least once each month in the Wednesday Practice Insights e-newsletter. Previous DSN Quick Credit lessons can be found in the Pharmacist CPE Library or Technician CPE Library on the CE platform. To claim credit, pharmacists and technicians should login or register with a DSN CE profile that includes an accurate personal NABP e-profile ID and 4-digit MMDD date of birth.
