Drug Store News and The Convenient Care Association will present The Retail Healthcare Webinar Series, a new educational forum specifically tailored to healthcare key stakeholders and professionals in the retail health industry, beginning this month.

Featuring six sessions presented by leaders from all sectors of health care, and focused on the latest information about how retail health is currently revolutionizing the delivery of care and how it will evolve even further in the future, the jointly produced DSN/CCA Retail Healthcare Webinar series kicks off Oct. 28. The lineup of sessions include:

  • The role of telehealth in retail health care: Oct. 28, presented by Tobias Barker, VP medical operations, MinuteClinic.

  • Integrated health care throughout the store: Nov. 3, presented by Web Golinkin, CEO Rite Aid Rediclinic and Health Dialog.

  • Harnessing big data to support quality improvement, planning, population health management and cost effectiveness: Nov. 11, presented by Bob Darin, VP enterprise analytics, CVS Health.

  • Partnerships in population health: Nov. 18, presented by Patrick Carroll, MD, medical director, Walgreens Health Care Clinic.

  • Chronic care and retail health: Dec. 1, presented by Eileen Myers, MPH, RDN, VP affiliations and patient-centered strategies, The Little Clinic.

  • Emerging payment models: Dec. 9, presented by S. Lawrence Kocot, principal and national leader of the Center for Healthcare Regulatory Insight at KPMG.

Drug Store News editor Rob Eder will moderate the series.

“Retail health clinics within traditional retail chain drug stores have become a critical boardroom conversation and key platform to transform traditional brick-and-mortar into integrated healthcare providers,” said Drug Store News group publisher Wayne Bennett.

“This educational platform is unique because the webinars are specifically designed for healthcare leadership and professionals, and showcase the value proposition of the retail health industry,” added Tine Hansen-Turton, executive director of the Convenient Care Association.

The Retail Healthcare Webinar Series is sponsored by VaxServe, Pfizer Consumer Healthcare, Meda Pharmaceuticals and Contour Next Blood Glucose Monitoring System.

“At Meda, we are committed to helping patients with respiratory diseases, such as asthma and allergies,” said Stuart Loesch, SVP sales and marketing for Meda. “Part of this commitment consists of outreach to healthcare professionals and patients to ensure proper education about the disease and treatments so that patients can live happier, healthier lives. As more and more patients are seeking treatment through retail clinics, Meda is proud to be partnering with the retail clinic industry and supporting activities like the DSN/CCA Webinar series that helps educate communities about the value the clinics play in their neighborhoods.”

The series runs from October through December, and archived recordings of the sessions will be made available for a limited time. For more information, including detailed session descriptions and how to register, visit DrugStoreNews.com/article/retailhealthcarewebinar.
