ST. LOUIS — Energizer's Household Products division on Tuesday introduced a new battery product called Energizer EcoAdvanced. It is the world's first AA battery constructed with 4% recylced batteries, according to the company.
“Industry experts long believed it was impossible to create a battery made with recycled batteries while maintaining performance,” said Michelle Atkinson, CMO. “Our scientists welcome a challenge and have spent the past seven years creating just that.
The recycled battery material means a longer-lasting battery for the consumer. It is also great news for the planet: Less mining of materials in the manufacturering process and reducing the number of batteries that consumers need for their devices translates into less waste.
“Our future innovations will continue to reduce the impact Energizer batteries have on the planet. By 2025, our vision for Energizer EcoAdvanced is to increase the amount of recycled battery material ten-fold to 40%,” Atkinson said.
