Former CVS CFO joins Dollar General's board of directors
GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. Former CVS Caremark CFO David Rickard has been appointed to Dollar General’s board of directors. He also will serve as chair of the company’s audit committee.
Rickard served as EVP, CFO and chief administrative officer of CVS Caremark from September 1999 until December 2009. Prior to joining CVS Caremark, he was the SVP and CFO of RJR Nabisco Holdings Corp. from 1997 to 1999. He has been a director of Harris Corp. since October 2001, and Jones Lang LaSalle Inc. since July 2007.

Dreiling is a retail pharmacy veteran himself. Prior to joining Dollar General in January 2008 as CEO, he had been chairman and CEO of Duane Reade. Before that, Dreiling served as EVP and COO of Longs Drug Stores, starting there in 2003. Prior to that, he was EVP marketing, manufacturing and distribution for grocery chain Safeway.
