Former Pathmark CEO passes away

NEW YORK — Jack Futterman, former chairman and CEO of Pathmark and former chairman of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores, has died, according to a New York Times report.



Futterman served as chairman and CEO of the Pathmark Supermarket chain until March 1996. He joined the grocer in 1973 as VP of its drug store and GM divisions and held a number of positions before assuming his role as CEO. He retired from Pathmark in 1996.



From June 1999 to December 1999, he served as chairman and CEO of Party City Stores.



Futterman, a registered pharmacist, served as NACDS chairman from 1994 to 1995.
