Former Staples market manager joins Staedtler as director of sales

CHATSWORTH, Calif. Staedtler, a multi-national corporation that provides an extensive range of writing instruments, art and craft materials, promotional products, drafting supplies and accessories, announced last month the appointment of Michael Melia as director of sales for national retail accounts.

Melia, an award winner of the Heart of a Hero Award from the Las Vegas Inner City Games, brings more than 20 years of exprerience to the position, having been a key market manager for both Office Depot and Staples.

"I am delighted to be part of the Staedtler team," said Melia. "My goal is to be creative, invent new opportunities, enhance old relationships and continue moving forward in a positive direction. The Staedtler name is considered top notch throughout the world, and my intention is to make is as strong as possible in the U.S., as well."

Staedtler will report directly to Michael Wiesmann, president of the company’s United States operations.
