Georgia legislature considers changes to tort laws

ATLANTA Georgia hopes to attract biotech companies by loosening its tort laws, according to published reports.

The state legislature is considering a bill that would shield locally based companies or companies based out of state with more than 200 employees from liability lawsuits concerning defects in drugs and medical devices that have Food and Drug Administration approval, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reported.
