8/15/2016

CARLISLE, Pa. – Customers and associates at Giant Food Stores and Martin's Food Markets donated $599,688 through the annual Children’s Miracle Network balloon campaign.

“This year marks our 20th anniversary of supporting CMN,” said Tom Lenkevich, Giant/Martin's president. “Together with our customers, associates and vendors we have raised more than $41 million to help provide brighter and healthier futures for thousands of children within our local communities.”

Giant/Martin's is one of the top 10 fundraisers in the country for CMN. In addition to the annual in-store campaigns during the summer and at the holidays, associates also regularly volunteer at CMN Hospital events, including radio and television telethons.

In July, Giant/Martin's supported CMN Hospitals through the Our Family Foundation Golf Tournament with more than 2,000 golfers playing on 14 courses throughout Central Pennsylvania. More than 30 local media celebrities were paired with miracle kids at the Giant Celebrity Putting Contest raising an additional $10,500 for CMN.

Founded in 1923 in Carlisle, Pa., Giant/Martin's operates nearly 200 grocery stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia, under the names of Giant Food Stores and Martin's Food Markets.
