Gillette, basketball legend Robert Parish support Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston

8/7/2013

BOSTON — Procter & Gamble’s Gillette teamed up Tuesday with basketball legend and Hall of Famer Robert “The Chief” Parish in support of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston.

Gillette worked with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to update its Passport to Manhood program, which promotes and teaches responsibility to Club boys as they begin their journey into adulthood.

During the event, local youth experienced the Passport to Manhood program including lessons that teach young boys how to be successful in their transition to manhood and how to give back to other youth in the community.

“I am excited to support Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston and their Passport to Manhood program with Gillette,” Parish said. “I spent many years in this city, so I’m honored to give back to the local community by sharing my advice with local youth as they begin a journey into adulthood — a journey in which positive role models and mentorship are so important.”

“Thousands of young boys take the journey to manhood with the Boys & Girls Clubs and mature and grow through Passport to Manhood,” added Elliott Wilke, brand manager for Gillette. “Gillette is dedicated to help further inspire and empower these youth with a great future through a great start.”
