5/26/2015

SAN ANTONIO – To continue relief efforts in the wake of the floods affecting the San Marcos and Wimberley communities, H‑E‑B will provide more than 3,000 Disaster Relief Cleanup Kits to residents returning to their homes, the grocer announced Monday. Each household will receive an H‑E‑B reusable bag filled with trash bags, paper towels, bleach, all‑purpose spray cleaner, gloves, sunscreen and insect repellent.

H‑E‑B has also activated the H‑E‑B Mobile Kitchen to San Marcos and will serve as the host site for H‑E‑B staff to prepare the much needed hot meals and distribute water to victims of the floods and first responders.

Additionally, The American Red Cross will be delivering H‑E‑B hot prepared meals and drinks in their Emergency Response Vehicle to impacted residents of San Marcos and neighboring communities as communicated by County Emergency Command.

H‑E‑B will also assist the impacted communities of Lockhart, Luling, and Pflugerville through its local stores.

"Providing aid in times of need is the cornerstone of H‑E‑B's Helping Here philosophy, which promises to stand by communities during times of crisis," the company stated. "For more than 100 years, [H-E-B] has demonstrated its commitment to communities in crisis by donating financial support, emergency supplies, drinking water and food, as well as providing efficient ways for customers to assist those affected by a natural disaster."
