ARLINGTON, Va. — Following the
recently issued final rule from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on Covered Outpatient Drugs, HDMA has weighed in on the changes, and plans to offer a webinar outlining key provisions on Feb. 4.
“HDMA is pleased that CMS has published the long-awaited AMP final rule,” the organization said. “The rule addresses a number of issues identified during the comment period … and strikes an appropriate balance between ensuring continued access to necessary treatments for Medicaid recipients as well as fair reimbursement policies for pharmacy providers.”
Moving forward,
HDMA’s webinar is planned for 11 a.m. on Feb. 4, which will feature HDMA EVP government affairs Patrick Kelly and Arent Fox partner Stephanie Trunk outlining key provisions.
“HDMA will now begin the process of helping our members, and their supply chain partners, understand their new responsibilities under the rule,” HDMA said. “We look forward to continuing our collaboration with CMS to ensure a smooth implementation of this final rule for the healthcare supply chain and the patients it serves.”
