Hy-Vee Triathlon to move to higher ground

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa Flooding that has hit Des Moines, Iowa, has prompted officials from the Hy-Vee supermarket chain to relocate the Hy-Vee Triathlon to West Des Moines, the Des Moines Register reported Monday.

The event, which started last year, will start at Raccoon River Park and finish at Valley Southwoods Freshman High School. Last year’s triathlon started at Des Moines’ Gray’s Lake and ended at the state capitol.

The triathlon was a qualifier for the United States Olympic triathlon team, the Register reported.
