IT, health-and-wellness format among Hy-Vee corporate restructuring priorities


WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Hy-Vee recently restructured several of its corporate departments to position it for further growth. The three areas it restructured were IT and Healthmarkets, as well as its restaurant development. Hy-Vee said it plans to add 70 new corporate staff members to its team in the coming weeks.

More than 50 of those positions will be It-based work at Hy-Vee’s new Grimes, Iowa, facility, which will serve as a creativity center for the IT and marketing teams to work to develop future apps, programs and online content aimed at improving convenience and customer service.

The remaining roughly 20 positions will be focused on expanding the company’s Healthmarkets, which have 179 locations and offer organic, natural, gluten-free and allergy-friendly foods, and the company’s Market Grille restaurants.

The company said its restructure had an impact on roughly 60 corporate positions, with at least 50 of those impacted being offered job reassignments within the company at store-level or in the new positions being created.
