Jean Coutu adds Rx snap and send feature to app

VARENNES, Quebec — Canada’s Jean Coutu Group announced Wednesday that it had added a feature to its mobile app. Now customers who use the app can take a photo of their prescription and send it to their pharmacist through their in-app health record. Prescriptions can then be prepared in advance and picked up. 

 

“Today, time is of the essence; this simple and convenient service will help patients and pharmacists maximize their time and focus on the release of treatment information when patients come and get their medications,” Jean Coutu Group SVP pharmacy and governmental affairs Richard Mayrand said. “We are proud to have contributed to this Web service development.”

 

The app is currently available for iOS and Android operating systems, and its health record feature allows users to manage their prescriptions, as well as request prescription renewals for one or more family member and scan prescription labels to request a refill.
