Kerr Drug donates used company vehicles to charity
RALEIGH, N.C. — Kerr Drug's philanthropic arm is donating used company vehicles to a nonprofit group that gives the cars to low-income families, the company said Friday.
On Nov. 10, Kerr Cares for Kids donated a car to Wheels4Hope, saying it was the third vehicle donated to the organization this year. In the spring, it donated two Dodge Caravans to the organization. While the vans had more than 200,000 miles on them, the company said they were well-maintained and in good condition. All three vehicles received repairs and have since been given to families.
"Without reliable, affordable transportation, families will struggle to find work, stay employed, go to school and care for their children," Kerr Drug CEO Tony Civello said. "All of those factors affect a family's health and, as a community pharmacy, Kerr Drug wants to do whatever it can to improve the health of the people in our community."
