Kroger donates $250K to storm, flood relief efforts
CINCINNATI — Kroger is committing $250,000 in cash and in-kind contributions to assist storm and flood relief efforts in communities across several Southeastern states.
Of the $250,000 commitment, the supermarket retailer is providing $150,000 in both cash and in-kind support, prioritizing food contributions to local Feeding America food banks to assist residents as demand increases. Additionally, Kroger's charitable arm, the Kroger Foundation, will provide the American Red Cross with up to $100,000 in cash to match customer donations collected at the register in Kroger stores.
"We hope that providing food and water to local food banks and financial support to the Red Cross will help our associates and customers rebuild their communities in the aftermath of these devastating storms," said Lynn Marmer, group VP corporate affairs for Kroger.
