LLS names Walgreens Specialty exec nat’l specialty chairman for ‘Light the Night’ walks

10/23/2015

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — A Walgreens Specialy Pharmacy executive is taking on a role with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Light the Night” fundraising walks. Mike Ellis, Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy’s corporate VP, has been named the inaugural national chairman of specialty pharmacy for the walks.

As part of his new role at LLS, Ellis will be on hand at Saturday’s walk in Glenview, Ill., joining supporters and survivors. The Glenview event is one of four “Light the Night” walks being held this coming weekend in Illinois and northern Indiana. Participants are encouraged to beat the national fundraising average of $250 and those who raise $100 and more carry an illuminated lantern on the walk — gold for lost loved ones, red for supporters and white for survivors.

Ellis has been in his role at Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy since 2011 and has 30 years of experience in specialty, having worked in senior positions at companies like CVS Caremark, AdvancePCS and others. He is also the president of the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy.
