Mars signs with licensee to bring branded apparel to retailers
MOUNT ARLINGTON, N.J. — Mars Retail Group announced that it has signed Mad Engine as a new licensee to produce a range of apparel that will express the vividness of M&M's and Skittles brands. The apparel will be available at a variety of price points and include long- and short-sleeve T-shirts, knit tops, outerwear, fleece and hoodies.
The new line could serve as a colorful focal point for retailers as they plan Back-to-College endcaps or holiday displays. Retailers may place orders in spring 2014 for distribution across the United States.
“Retailers are looking for strategic ways to gain shopper interest and increase sales, and we know that a display incorporating M&M’S brand candies and licensed merchandise will boost sales while adding excitement to the aisle,” said John Capizzi, general manager of licensing for Mars Retail Group. “We’re proud to offer retailers quality apparel from industry leader Mad Engine. Pairing their quality and ingenuity with the strength of Mars’ iconic brands, we’ll deliver strong results to retailers looking to offer a unique shopping experience.”
Mad Engine's roster of brands includes Lucasfilm, Marvel and Disney. The company is based in San Diego County, Calif., and maintains inventory of more than 230 items to service the just-in-time deliveries for smaller store chains and boutique sales.
