Marsh Supermarkets to close all of its pharmacies

5/1/2017

INDIANAPOLIS — Marsh Supermarkets will close all 37 of its Indiana in-store pharmacies during a three-day period beginning May 3, according to several media reports. All prescription information and inventory will be transferred to CVS Pharmacy.

Terms of the Marsh-CVS transaction were not disclosed.

According to WIBC-TV, current Marsh customers will be notified by CVS when their prescriptions are transferred and by signs at Marsh locations alerting them to their nearest pharmacy location.

The news outlet added Marsh has been closing stores in Indiana due to “weak performances.”

CVS issued the following statement: “CVS and Marsh will work together to ensure that pharmacy patients experience a seamless transaction with no interruption of service. Each Marsh location will have signage with the location of the nearest CVS Pharmacy. However, any CVS Pharmacy location will be able to fill prescriptions for Marsh’s pharmacy patients.”
