Maxim Health, Citi partner on flu shot payment card
NEW YORK — Maxim Health Systems now is a certified distributor of the Citi Flu Care card, the healthcare group announced Tuesday.
The Citi Flu Care card can be used for flu vaccinations at more than 25,000 pharmacies and clinics nationwide. The card provides organizations with a cost-effective method for delivering vaccination services to their healthcare beneficiaries. “The flexibility of this new solution is a way to drive efficiency in areas where traditional health care and retail health services meet," stated John Kohari, Citi's global head for prepaid cards.
"Our relationship with Citi [helps] offer our clients a healthcare benefit that is effective, flexible and economical,” stated Steve Pellito, director of wellness for Maxim Health Systems. “We now have an enhanced solution to provide flu shots for 100% of the population we serve, including people who live and work in remote locations.”
Based on industry research, the Citi Flu Care card is the first flu shot payment product that does not require prefunding. In addition, Citi uses patent-pending technology to ensure that only flu vaccinations can be purchased. This capability both eliminates the need for prepayment and gives employers greater funding control and overall healthcare cost reduction.
