McMullen replaces McGeorge as Kroger’s president, COO

CINCINNATI Kroger announced Thursday president and COO Don McGeorge’s decision to retire.

W. Rodney McMullen was elected by Kroger’s board of directors to replace McGeorge as president and COO of the company

Both McGeorge and McMullen have been part of the leadership team that has helped create Kroger’s success, said David Dillon, Kroger’s chairman and CEO. In order to facilitate a smooth transition, McGeorge will work closely with Kroger until late in the year as special advisor to the CEO and member of Kroger’s board of directors.

McMullen will begin his role on August 1.
