MinuteClinic opens 5 new NYC locations

WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Health’s MinuteClinic has opened five new locations three of New York City’s five boroughs. Two of the new clinics are in Brooklyn, two are in Manhattan and one is located in Queens. All are located inside of CVS Pharmacy locations.


“Our new clinics will help increase access to high-quality, affordable health care in areas that are convenient for New Yorkers who live and work nearby,” CVS Health EVP and MinuteClinic executive director Sharon Vitti said. “We’re excited to introduce even more New York City patients to MinuteClinic’s growing suite of health care services and we look forward to bringing innovations and convenience to the way health care is delivered to the community.”


The new locations will be open seven days a week, offering patients appointments with nurse practitioners specializing in family health care who can diagnose and treat acute such acute conditions as strep throat, as well as ear, eye, sinus, bladder and bronchial infections. They also can treat minor wounds and abrasions, sprains, strains and joint pain, as well as administer such vaccinations as influenza, tetanus, pneumonia and hepatitis A&B. MinuteClinic also offers prevention and wellness screening, including monitoring for diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, tuberculosis testing, contraceptive care, motion sickness prevention and smoking cessation. In addition, the nurse practitioners can evaluate and treat common skin conditions, such as acne, dermatitis and rosacea.


Most services cost between $89 and $129, and patients can use a digital tool to view the wait times at their preferred location.
