ARLINGTON, Va. — The National Association of Chain Drug Stores has tapped Bruce Josten, EVP for government affairs for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, as the keynote speaker for the NACDS Political Action Committee breakfast during the 2015 NACDS Annual Meeting.
Josten, who will address attendees on April 27 in Palm Beach, Fla., serves as the second ranking officer and senior government and political affairs executive of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, managing six major divisions within the organization, including congressional and public affairs, economic policy, technology and regulatory affairs and political affairs. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce represents the interests of more than 3 million American businesses of all sizes, as well as state and local chambers and industry associations.
“Bruce is known as a driving force behind the U.S. Chamber’s work to re-write the rules of political engagement, at one of the most politically volatile times in our nation’s history,” stated NACDS president and CEO Steve Anderson. “One of the objectives of the NACDS-PAC Breakfast each year is to help attendees identify key factors that are shaping the policy and political environment. It is perhaps more clear than ever before that understanding this playing field demands an understanding of the U.S. Chamber’s determination and influence.”
Josten is quoted regularly by The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Business Week, Fortune and National Journal, and has been interviewed on "Meet the Press." He was named one of Politico’s “50 to Watch,” and CEO Update named Josten its first Association Lobbyist of the Year in 2014.
The bipartisan NACDS-PAC supports Congressional candidates who understand and help to advance pro-pharmacy and pro-patient policies.
