NACDS taps political journo Halperin for NACDS-PAC event at Total Store Expo

ARLINGTON, Va. — At the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Total Store Expo, attendees of the conference’s NACDS Political Involvement Reception will get to hear from NBC News and MSNBC senior political analyst Mark Halperin. He will speak at the reception, which takes place Aug. 19 — the first night of NACDS TSE, which will be held in San Diego through Aug. 22.

Halperin is the creator, executive producer and co-host of Showtime’s “The Circus,” which followed the 2016 presidential election and the Washington Examiner called “the greatest political show on TV.” Before he joined Bloomberg in 2014, Halperin was editor-at-large and senior political analyst for Time. His book about the 2008 election “Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime” was a New York Times bestseller and was adapted into the HBO film “Game Change.”

We look forward to gaining unique insights from Mark Halperin, who has distinguished himself as a political expert with a firm grasp on the unpredictable and fractious political environment that has characterized national politics for the past several years,” said NACDS President and CEO Steven C. Anderson, IOM, CAE. “Mark will bring tremendous value to what has become the signature NACDS-PAC event during the NACDS Total Store Expo.

Halperin is the second speaker NACDS TSE speaker to be announced, following the news that former secretary of state Colin Powell will be delivering the keynote at the Aug. 20 Business Program.

NACDS said that its NACDS-PAC is a bipartisan organization that supports candidates working to advance a pro-patient and pro-pharmacy policy agenda. The event at NACDS TSE is open to NACDS-PAC contributors and invited guests. For more information, click here.
